JNJ 31020028 is a selective neuropeptide Y Y2 receptor antagonist that binds with high affinity to human Y2 receptor (pIC50 8.07) and rat Y2 receptor (pIC50 8.22), exhibiting over 100-fold selectivity against human Y1, Y4, and Y5 receptors. By inhibiting presynaptic Y2 autoreceptors, it prevents neuropeptide Y-mediated feedback regulation, thereby modulating central stress responses and neurotransmission in preclinical models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
