JMS-17-2 is a potent small-molecule antagonist of CX3C chemokine receptor 1 (CX3CR1) with an IC50 of 0.32 nM. By selectively targeting CX3CR1, JMS-17-2 blocks downstream chemokine signaling pathways, inhibiting receptor-mediated cellular adhesion, chemotactic migration, and tumor cell survival. Consequently, blockade of CX3CR1 activity impairs cell motility and suppresses metastatic dissemination in breast cancer disease models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
