Biological Activity

Ixazomib Citrate (MLN9708) is an orally bioavailable prodrug of Ixazomib (MLN2238), a selective 20S proteasome inhibitor targeting the chymotrypsin-like β5 site,, caspase-like β1 site, and trypsin-like β2 site. Inhibition of proteasomal degradation blocks NF-κB pathway activation and suppresses downstream cell survival signaling, ultimately inducing apoptosis in target cells. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
