Ivospemin is a spermine analogue and polyamine pathway inhibitor that depletes intracellular polyamines in cancer cell lines. By suppressing polyamine biosynthetic pathways through inhibition of ornithine decarboxylase activity, it disrupts essential cellular metabolic processes required for nucleic acid and protein synthesis. Consequently, this downregulation inhibits cancer cell proliferation, demonstrating therapeutic potential against metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma models. [1]
