Isochlorogenic acid C is a natural di-O-caffeoyl derivative of chlorogenic acid with potent antioxidant and antiviral activities, including inhibition of enterovirus 71 (EV71). It suppresses viral replication and downregulates pro-inflammatory cytokine production through modulation of the NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathways. Consequently, Isochlorogenic acid C reduces cellular oxidative stress, suppresses cytopathic effects, and protects host cells from virus-induced inflammatory damage. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
