Biological Activity

ISA-2011B is a synthetic small-molecule inhibitor of phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase-α (PIP5Kα). By disrupting PIP5Kα activity, ISA-2011B downregulates downstream PI3K/AKT signaling and target gene expression, suppressing cellular proliferation, survival, and invasive phenotypes. Consequently, treatment with this selective lipid kinase inhibitor exhibits marked anti-proliferative activity and effectively induces apoptosis in aggressive prostate cancer cells. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
