Biological Activity
Monlunabant (INV-202, (S)-MRI-1891) is a peripherally acting inverse agonist of the cannabinoid type-1 receptor (CB1R). By selectively inhibiting peripheral CB1R signaling, it modulates tissue metabolic and fibrotic pathways. Preclinical evaluations demonstrate that monlunabant improves lung compliance in mouse models of asthma and reduces renal fibrosis in streptozotocin-induced diabetic nephropathy models, offering therapeutic potential for respiratory and renal complications associated with metabolic disorders.[1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
