Biological Activity

INH6 is a potent small-molecule Hec1 inhibitor that specifically disrupts the interaction between Hec1 and Nek2 protein kinase. By targeting the Hec1/Nek2 pathway, INH6 impairs kinetochore-microtubule attachment, causing severe chromosome mis-alignment and spindle assembly defects during mitosis. This targeted disruption leads to mitotic arrest, inhibition of cellular proliferation, and apoptosis in sensitive cancer cell lines.

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
