Biological Activity
INF195 is a synthetic small-molecule inhibitor of the NLRP3 inflammasome. By selectively targeting NLRP3, INF195 suppresses inflammasome complex assembly, thereby preventing downstream caspase-1 activation, macrophage pyroptosis, and the secretion of pro-inflammatory interleukin-1β (IL-1β). In preclinical cardiac models, pharmacological blockade of NLRP3 reduces myocardial infarct size in isolated mouse hearts and effectively protects tissue against ischemia/reperfusion injury. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
