Indole-3-acetamide is an endogenous auxin precursor and metabolic intermediate involved in plant hormone biosynthesis. It undergoes enzymatic conversion to active indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) mediated by indole-3-acetamide hydrolases, including AMI1. Through the localized production of IAA, indole-3-acetamide plays an important functional role in modulating plant growth, cell elongation, and auxin-mediated gene expression pathways. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
