IMP-1088 is a dual inhibitor targeting human N-myristoyltransferase 1 (HsNMT1; IC50 < 1 nM, Kd < 210 pM) and HsNMT2 (IC50 < 1 nM). By suppressing host N-myristoyltransferase activity, IMP-1088 blocks the co-translational N-myristoylation of viral VP0 protein. This inhibition disrupts viral capsid assembly, preventing the replication of rhinoviruses and protecting host cells from virus-induced cytotoxicity. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
