Biological Activity

Imlunestrant (LY is a potent, orally bioavailable selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD) that functions as a pure antagonist of estrogen receptor alpha (ERα). It promotes effective degradation of both wild-type and mutant ERα, leading to the inhibition of ER-dependent target gene expression. Consequently, imlunestrant induces cell cycle arrest and suppresses cell proliferation, resulting in sustained inhibition of estrogen-driven tumor growth in ER-positive models. [1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
