IDF-11774 is a hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1) inhibitor that suppresses HIF-1α protein accumulation under hypoxic conditions in HCT116 human colon cancer cells. By blocking HIF-1α, IDF-11774 reduces hypoxia response element (HRE)-driven reporter gene transcriptional activity. This inhibition disrupts downstream hypoxic signaling pathways, impairing tumor cell metabolic adaptation and survival under low-oxygen microenvironments. [1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
