Biological Activity

Idasanutlin (RG7388) is a potent and selective MDM2 inhibitor that targets the p53-MDM2 interaction with an IC50 of. By blocking MDM2 binding, Idasanutlin prevents p53 ubiquitination and degradation, thereby activating the p53 signaling pathway. This stabilization induces downstream transcription of p53 target genes, resulting in cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in p53 wild-type tumor cell lines. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
