Biological Activity

Icotinib (BPI-2009H) is a potent and specific epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor, targeting wild-type EGFR as well as mutant variants including EGFR(L858R), EGFR(L861Q), EGFR(T790M), and EGFR(T790M, L858R). By suppressing autophosphorylation of EGFR, it blocks downstream RAS/RAF/MEK/ERK and PI3K/AKT signaling cascades, thereby inhibiting oncogenic signal transduction, suppressing tumor cell proliferation, and promoting apoptosis in EGFR-driven cancer cells. Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
