icFSP1 is a potent, selective human ferroptosis suppressor protein-1 (FSP1) inhibitor that promotes ferroptosis by indirectly inhibiting FSP1 function. By triggering FSP1 relocalization from cellular membranes and inducing phase separation into biomolecular condensates, icFSP1 impairs the FSP1-mediated antioxidant defense system. This loss of FSP1 function leads to lipid peroxidation and sensitizes cancer cells to ferroptotic cell death, particularly in synergism with GPX4 inhibition. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
