Hypaconitine is an active diterpene alkaloid isolated from Aconitum species that inhibits TGF-β1-induced epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT). It suppresses TGF-β1-mediated activation and nuclear translocation of NF-κB, leading to downregulation of Snail and N-cadherin alongside upregulation of E-cadherin. Through attenuation of this EMT signaling pathway, hypaconitine reduces the adhesion, migration, and invasive capabilities of lung cancer cells. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
