4'-Hydroxychalcone is a natural retrochalcone that acts as an inhibitor of TNFα-induced NF-κB pathway activation and an activator of BMP signaling. By suppressing the NF-κB signaling cascade and modulating BMP-mediated pathways, 4'-hydroxychalcone regulates downstream inflammatory responses and cellular differentiation phenotypes. These biological activities demonstrate its capacity to influence intracellular signaling networks involved in inflammation and cell fate. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
