Biological Activity

HS-243 is a potent interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase (IRAK) and transforming growth factor-beta-activated kinase 1 (TAK1) inhibitor. Inhibition of these kinases disrupts downstream Toll-like receptor and interleukin-1 receptor signaling, suppressing activation of the NF-κB and MAPK pathways. Consequently, HS-243 modulates key immune and inflammatory mediator production, exhibiting cellular activity relevant to inflammation and cancer research. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
