Biological Activity

Homo-PROTAC cereblon degrader 1 is a homobifunctional proteolysis targeting chimera (PROTAC) that selectively targets and promotes the degradation of cereblon (CRBN). By inducing CRBN dimerization and E3 ubiquitin ligase recruitment, it leads to the targeted self-degradation of CRBN with minimal off-target effects on neosubstrates IKZF1 and IKZF3. This selective target depletion disrupts CRBN-mediated signaling and provides a functional tool for studying ubiquitin-proteasome pathway mechanisms. [1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
