Biological Activity

Glucoraphanin is a natural glucosinolate and stable precursor of the Nrf2 inducer sulforaphane that possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. It mitigates TNFα-induced inflammation and epithelial monolayer permeabilization in Caco-2 cells by regulating redox homeostasis and suppressing the activation of NF-kB and MAPK/ERK1/2 signaling pathways. Consequently, glucoraphanin prevents tight junction degradation and preserves intestinal barrier integrity. [1]
