GLPG1837 is a potent cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) potentiator with an EC50 of 3 nM for F508del-CFTR. It restores channel gating activity in CFTR mutants, including F508del and class III gating mutations such as G551D. By enhancing CFTR channel open probability, GLPG1837 stimulates transepithelial chloride ion transport, promoting airway surface liquid hydration and restoring epithelial ion homeostasis. [1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
