Glecaprevir is a hepatitis C virus (HCV) nonstructural (NS) protein 3/4A protease inhibitor with enzymatic IC50 values ranging from 3.5 toagainst clinical isolates across genotypes 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, 3a, 4a, 5a, and 6a. By targeting the NS3/4A complex, it blocks viral polyprotein processing and suppresses viral RNA replication, demonstrating pangenotypic antiviral activity in replicon models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
