Ginkgetin is a natural biflavone that acts as a pleiotropic modulator of signaling cascades, including the JAK/STAT and MAPK pathways. It inhibits STAT3 phosphorylation and nuclear translocation, suppressing downstream cell survival proteins like Bcl-2 and cyclin D1 to induce apoptosis and block tumor cell growth. Additionally, ginkgetin modulates NF-kB signaling and inflammatory mediators to exert anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective activities. [1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
