Biological Activity

Gibberellins A4/A7 is an endogenous plant growth regulator mixture comprising gibberellin A4 and gibberellin A7 that acts by binding to the soluble gibberellin receptor GID1. This binding promotes the degradation of DELLA repressor proteins, activating gibberellin signaling pathways. Consequently, Gibberellins A4/A7 stimulates cell growth, internode elongation, and breaks seed dormancy to facilitate germination across various plant species. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
