Gardenoside is a natural iridoid glycoside isolated from Gardenia fruits that exhibits hepatoprotective and anti-inflammatory activities. It inhibits free fatty acid (FFA)-induced cellular steatosis and suppresses NF-kB activation, reducing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-a, IL-1b, and IL-6. In vivo, gardenoside mitigates pain in rat models of chronic constriction injury by regulating P2X3 and P2X7 purinergic receptor signaling pathways.

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
