Biological Activity

FT895 is a potent and selective inhibitor of histone deacetylase 11 (HDAC11) relative to other HDAC family enzymes. Targeted inhibition of HDAC11 disrupts its catalytic regulatory function in gene transcription, leading to altered chromatin structure and immune pathway signaling. This enzymatic inhibition increases downstream cellular production of key regulatory cytokines, including interleukin-10, thereby modulating inflammatory and immune cell phenotypes. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
