Biological Activity

FRAX1036 is a small-molecule inhibitor targeting p21-activated kinases PAK1 and PAK2. By inhibiting PAK family kinase activity, FRAX1036 blocks Rac/Cdc42-dependent signaling pathways, leading to the disruption of actin cytoskeletal dynamics, cell migration, and cell cycle progression in cancer models. These biological activities highlight its utility as a chemical tool for investigating PAK-mediated cellular functions and oncogenic signaling cascades. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
