Biological Activity
FR 180204 is an ATP-competitive, selective extracellular signal-regulated kinase inhibitor targeting ERK1 (Ki 0.31 μM) and ERK2 (Ki 0.14 μM). By blocking ERK activation within the MAPK/ERK pathway, it suppresses downstream signaling events, leading to the inhibition of cell proliferation and AP-1-dependent transcriptional activity. FR 180204 displays marked selectivity for ERK over related kinases including p38α and MEK1. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
