Biological Activity
Forsythoside A is a natural phenylethanoid glycoside isolated from Forsythia fructus with anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and immunomodulatory properties. It suppresses lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammatory responses by inhibiting the activation of the NF-kB signaling pathway, leading to reduced production of pro-inflammatory cytokines including TNF-a, IL-1b, and IL-6. These downstream cellular effects mitigate tissue inflammation and regulate immune cell function. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
