Biological Activity

FM19G11 is a small-molecule hypoxia-inducible factor-1-alpha (HIF-1α) inhibitor that suppresses hypoxia-induced luciferase activity with an ICofin HeLa cells. By repressing p300 histone acetyltransferase expression and reducing overall histone acetylation, FM19G11 impairs HIF-dependent transcriptional transactivation. Downstream inhibition of HIF-1α signaling decreases the expression of pluripotency factors such as Oct4 and Sox2, thereby impairing stem cell self-renewal and promoting cell differentiation. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
