Flavopiridol HCl is a potent pan-cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) inhibitor targeting CDK1, CDK2, CDK4, and CDK6. By competing with ATP for binding, it downregulates cyclin D1, upregulates p21, and activates caspases 3 and 7. These alterations disrupt cell cycle progression, leading to concentration-dependent G1 and G2 phase arrest and induction of apoptosis in various cancer cells. Furthermore, Flavopiridol exhibits antitumor activity in vivo and suppresses HIV-1 replication. [1][2]
