Biological Activity

FL118 is a camptothecin analog that acts as a potent inhibitor of Survivin while selectively and independently downregulating additional anti-apoptotic survival proteins, including Mcl-1, XIAP, and cIAP2, in a p53 status-independent manner. By suppressing these key inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) and Bcl-2 family members, FL118 impairs anti-apoptotic survival signaling, thereby promoting cancer cell apoptosis and inhibiting tumor growth. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
