Biological Activity

FIDAS-5 is a potent and orally active inhibitor of methionine S-adenosyltransferase 2A (MAT2A) with an IC50 value of. FIDAS-5 effectively competes against S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) for MAT2A binding, thereby disrupting SAM production and altering cellular methionine metabolism. Through this target inhibition, FIDAS-5 represses colon cancer cell proliferation and exhibits robust anticancer activity.

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
