Biological Activity
FBPase-1 inhibitor-1 is a benzoxazole benzenesulfonamide compound functioning as an allosteric inhibitor of fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase (FBPase-1). By binding to a unique allosteric site on FBPase-1, it suppresses enzymatic activity to regulate carbohydrate metabolism. Inhibition of FBPase-1 blocks the rate-limiting step of gluconeogenesis, leading to decreased endogenous glucose production and downstream attenuation of hepatic glucose output. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
