Farrerol is a natural flavanone that functions as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agent. It suppresses lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammatory responses by inhibiting the activation of NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathways. Downstream, farrerol attenuates the phosphorylation of ERK, p38, and JNK, leading to reduced expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines including TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β. Through these mechanisms, farrerol mitigates inflammatory injury and cellular oxidative stress.

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
