Biological Activity

EZM 2302 (GSK3359088) is a potent and selective inhibitor of coactivator-associated arginine methyltransferase 1 (CARM1). By blocking CARM1 enzymatic activity, EZM 2302 decreases intracellular asymmetric dimethylarginine levels on CARM1 substrates, modulating chromatin remodeling and downstream gene expression. This selective target inhibition suppresses cell proliferation and promotes cell cycle arrest in CARM1-dependent cancer cell lines, including multiple myeloma models.

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
