Evatanepag (CP-533536) is a potent and selective prostaglandin E2 receptor subtype 2 (EP2) agonist. Activation of the EP2 receptor elevates intracellular cAMP levels, driving downstream bone anabolic signaling pathways. This activation stimulates local bone formation and accelerates fracture healing in animal models, effectively repairing bone defects without inducing the systemic side effects typically observed with prostaglandin E2. Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
