Enoxacin sesquihydrate is a broad-spectrum 6-fluoronaphthyridinone antibacterial agent that targets bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, while also functioning as a small-molecule enhancer of microRNA processing. By binding to TAR RNA-binding protein (TRBP), it promotes the loading and processing of precursor microRNAs by the Dicer complex. This leads to the upregulation of tumor-suppressive microRNAs, suppressing cell growth and inhibiting tumor progression across various cancer cell types. [1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
