Biological Activity

EML 425 is a potent and selective histone acetyltransferase inhibitor targeting CREB binding protein (CBP, IC50 = and p300 (IC50 =. By targeting the catalytic domain of CBP/p300, EML 425 suppresses cellular histone acetylation and disrupts key transcriptional pathways. This blockade downstream leads to inhibition of cellular proliferation, cell cycle arrest, and induction of apoptosis in human leukemic cell lines. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
