EGCG Octaacetate is a lipophilic pro-drug of the polyphenol epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) with anti-oxidative, anti-mitotic, and anti-angiogenic properties. Upon intracellular conversion to EGCG, it modulates apoptotic and angiogenic signaling pathways, suppressing cell proliferation and vessel formation. In preclinical models, EGCG Octaacetate demonstrates enhanced stability and cellular uptake, inhibiting tumor cell growth, suppressing neovascularization, and promoting apoptosis in neoplastic and endometriotic lesions.[1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
