EBE-A22 is an inactive derivative of the EGFR (ErbB-1) tyrosine kinase inhibitor PD 153035. Unlike its parent compound, which potently blocks ErbB-1 receptor autophosphorylation and suppresses downstream EGFR-mediated signaling pathways, EBE-A22 lacks inhibitory activity against ErbB-1 phosphorylation. Consequently, EBE-A22 serves as a negative control compound in cellular and biochemical studies evaluating EGFR-dependent signaling processes and phenotypic responses. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
