DMAT is a selective casein kinase-2 (CK2) inhibitor (IC50 ~0.14 μM; Ki ~40 nM). By competing with ATP at the active site, DMAT blocks endogenous CK2 catalytic activity within cellular signaling networks. Targeted inhibition of CK2 disrupts pro-survival signaling pathways, including AKT/mTOR and NF-kB cascades, thereby suppressing cell proliferation and inducing apoptotic cell death across various cancer cell lines.[1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
