DL-Arginine is a racemic mixture of the α-amino acid arginine, a fundamental building block for protein synthesis and a key precursor in nitric oxide and urea metabolic pathways. It plays a critical role in cellular proliferation, ammonia detoxification via the urea cycle, immune cell function, and hormone secretion. Through the generation of nitric oxide and polyamines, arginine regulates vascular tone, cellular signaling, and tissue repair processes. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
