Biological Activity

DJ-V-159 is a small-molecule agonist targeting G protein-coupled receptor family C group 6 member A (GPRC6A). Activation of GPRC6A stimulates intracellular signaling pathways, including extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) phosphorylation and second messenger cascades. Through these signaling events, GPRC6A stimulation modulates endocrine responses, metabolic regulation, and cellular proliferation phenotypes. Consequently, DJ-V-159 serves as a valuable chemical tool for investigating GPRC6A-mediated nutrient sensing and physiological signaling mechanisms. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
