Disodium (R)-2-Hydroxyglutarate is an endogenous oncometabolite that acts as a competitive inhibitor of α-ketoglutarate-dependent dioxygenases. It targets key epigenetic enzymes in this family, including TET family DNA hydroxylases and histone lysine demethylases. By competing with α-ketoglutarate, it blocks demethylation processes, leading to genome-wide DNA hypermethylation and elevated histone methylation, which alters gene expression pathways and impairs cellular differentiation. - Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
