Diclazuril (R-64433) is a benzeneacetonitrile derivative and broad-spectrum anti-coccidial agent targeting protozoan parasites such as Eimeria species and Toxoplasma gondii. It acts by disrupting intracellular parasite development, inhibiting schizogony and sporogony phases, and downregulating apical complex protein expression. These actions block merozoite maturation and impair parasite replication, resulting in effective suppression of coccidial infection in host tissue models. [1]
