Cytochalasin C is a cell-permeable fungal metabolite isolated from Chaetomium globosum that functions as an inhibitor of actin polymerization. By directly targeting the actin microfilament network, Cytochalasin C disrupts cytoskeletal organization and dynamics. Consequently, inhibition of actin filament assembly alters cellular architecture and induces the characteristic formation of nuclear rodlets within treated cells. [1]
