Biological Activity

Cyclosporin A-d4 is a deuterated derivative of Cyclosporin A, functioning as an immunosuppressant that targets cyclophilin A. Upon binding to cyclophilin A, the resulting complex inhibits calcineurin, a calcium-dependent serine/threonine protein phosphatase. This inhibition blocks the nuclear translocation of nuclear factor of activated T-cells (NFAT) and suppresses downstream T-cell activation and cytokine transcription. [1][2]
