Biological Activity

MYC-IN-3 (Cpd. 37) is an alkynyl-substituted phenylpyrazole derivative that acts as an inhibitor of MYC function by disrupting the MYC/MAX protein-protein interaction. By preventing the MYC/MAX complex from binding to target gene promoter DNA, it suppresses downstream MYC-driven transcriptional programs. This inhibition leads to marked antiproliferative effects across multiple cancer cell lines and suppresses tumor growth in animal models. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
